Talas Hair Metal Band

Talas was a local Buffalo, NY band that had a huge following in the northeast USA and Canada in the late 1970's.  The bass player for Talas was the talented Billy Sheenan.  The band's local success led to the release of their self-titled debut in 1979, which included the popular song "See Saw".  In 1980, Talas received national exposure when they went on tour with Van Halen.  For whatever reason, the band never took off nationally.     

Sheenan would go on to play with a number of different bands, the most notable being with David Lee Roth and Mr. Big.  Sheenan was an extremely talented base player, and a few of his Talas songs would end up be re-created in some of his later bands:  "Shy Boy" (David Lee Roth) and "Addicted to That Rush" (Mr. Big).  At the time of this writing in 2016, Sheenan was active in a new band called The Winery Dogs with Richie Kotzen.  The Talas Discography is as follows:
